In 2006, David Wolfe faced a pivotal moment in his career when the H&H Music Inc. store, where he had been teaching private lessons for over twelve years, was on the brink of closure. As a major supplier of instruments to Houston-area schools and with stores in eight states, H&H Music's potential shutdown posed a significant challenge. Adding to the dilemma, there were no nearby alternatives or comparable businesses suitable for Wolfe to continue teaching, and the prospect of conducting lessons from home was unappealing.
In response to this predicament, Wolfe took swift action, partnering with other professionals. Within 30 days, they established Clear Lake Music Lessons (CLML) at 17300 Saturn Lane, Suite 107. The official website was launched just a week later, on March 10th, 2006. Beginning with one additional teacher, CLML expanded its faculty over the following four years, evolving into a hub for private instruction across a diverse range of instruments. By the close of 2011, the studio was accommodating an impressive 100 to 150 students weekly, but the growing success brought with it a new challenge—space constraints began to emerge.
In 2012, Clear Lake Music Lessons (CLML) entered a new chapter, relocating to Suite 101, just five doors down, doubling our space, and officially incorporating as Clear Lake Music Lessons Inc.
Over the years, CLML has experienced substantial growth, currently teaching 300 to 400 students weekly with a team of seventeen instructors covering various instruments. We've expanded our offerings to include group band classes and summer camps, showcasing our students' talents at bi-yearly recitals.
From the outset, CLML aimed to surpass typical music instruction by not only emphasizing traditional music fundamentals but also imparting essential contemporary skills. All our instructors are both teachers and music-playing professionals, guiding students toward professionalism or the sheer joy of musical accomplishment.
Our environment is designed to be welcoming and positive for both students and parents in our waiting room. Word of mouth has been our primary advertising, establishing CLML as a trusted choice recommended by many parents and students year after year.
We invite you to experience CLML firsthand—meet our friendly teachers, explore our welcoming atmosphere, and consider taking lessons with no long-term commitment. Whether for you, your children, or extended family, we aspire to be more than just a music school.

Clear Lake Music Lessons, Inc. is a music school that offers instruction in a variety of musical instruments and styles.
Clear Lake Music Lessons, Inc. offers music lessons in a variety of instruments such as guitar, piano, drums, violin, and more. We also offer lessons in music theory and songwriting.
Our instructors are experienced musicians and educators who are passionate about teaching music to students of all ages and skill levels.
Regrettably, we do not offer in-home lessons or classes. All our lessons and classes exclusively occur at our dedicated studio. Our commitment is to provide an exceptional learning environment within our studio setting.
At Clear Lake Music Lessons, we cater to all ages and skill levels. While we generally find that children aged 4 or younger may not respond well to professional instruction, exceptions exist, and we may attempt lessons for 4-year-olds. Younger children are often better suited to group music classes with peers of similar age.
Moreover, approximately 25-35% of our students are adults, with varying levels of musical background or no prior experience. Our skilled instructors are adept at teaching both kids and adults. For adults, engaging in music not only enriches life but also contributes to brain health. No talent or previous experience is required; only consistent practice, though challenging in our busy lives, is needed.
Embrace the joy of music at any age with Clear Lake Music Lessons!
We have experienced teachers that have successfully worked with children with special needs, and we are open to accommodating diverse learning styles. To assess compatibility, consider taking a couple of lessons—no long-term commitment required—and observe their response to the instruction. Though not guaranteed, we are committed to making every effort for a positive learning experience.
For beginners without a substantial recital-level piece, participation in their first year is not strongly encouraged. However, after the initial year, all students are welcomed to partake in recitals, provided they or their parents express interest. The decision to participate in recitals is at the discretion of the student's teacher, who may approve an earlier performance if the student progresses rapidly and masters a suitable recital piece.
Participation in recitals is not mandatory, although we encourage students to consider it. Performing in recitals contributes to the development of musical talent and confidence, offering a valuable opportunity for students to showcase their progress and celebrate their musical journey.
In most cases, yes, you'll need an instrument to practice at home, and it's advisable to bring it to your lesson. However, for instruments like Piano, Drums, Xylophone, or Steel Drums, there's no need to transport them to the lesson—these are available at our studio due to their size.
If you require assistance or information on purchasing or renting an instrument, we can guide you to reputable businesses. Moreover, we are ready to offer valuable insights into the general cost and quality considerations when acquiring a specific instrument. Ensuring you have the right instrument is a crucial step in your musical journey, and we're here to support you every step of the way.
While we do not provide free introductory lessons, your investment in our registration fee* ensures a quality learning experience. Should you decide to discontinue lessons before the third week, a refund of your registration fee can be requested.
Periodically, we do run specials on lessons, featuring promotions such as free trial lessons or waived registration fees. Keep an eye on our specials page for the latest offerings—these promotions are available for a limited time.
