After a 20+ year career in San Antonio, Texas as a performing musician, successful middle school band director, and recording engineer, Chuck relocated to the Clear Lake area in 2006. Since that time he has taught private lessons throughout the Clear Creek Independent School District as a contract member of the district’s Music Enrichment Program.
Chuck developed his love for music as far back as middle school, where he began study as a percussionist and would go on to also develop proficiency on saxophone and flute. While in high school, Chuck began both performing professionally and teaching lessons, experiences which convinced him that his future would be in music education. He continued to perform professionally on flute, clarinet, and saxophone throughout college, in San Antonio, in New York (in the pit for several Broadway musicals), and in recording studios throughout the Austin area.
As a middle school band director, Chuck enjoyed many successes, assisting varsity and non-varsity bands in earning superior recognitions at many UIL Concert & Sightreading contests and guiding individual students in their own efforts at UIL Solo & Ensemble contests and TMEA All-Region, All-Area, and All-State competitions. During this time, Chuck also became increasingly active in the San Antonio music scene as a freelance audio recording engineer, providing live recording services, mixing, and mastering to performers and groups from a wide range of musical styles and settings.
Chuck’s current interest is to share his experience and his understanding of music to help students, both young and old, achieve their own music potential and to embark upon a lifetime of musical experience.
