Chelsea LeBlanc has a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance from Houston Baptist University and is wrapping up a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance from Central Michigan University. She made her HBU Opera Theatre debut in 2007 at the Opera Gala in the role of Suzuki from Puccini's Madame Butterfly and later had the opportunity take the stage as the First Lady from Mozart's Magic Flute, as well as to take a turn at stage management.
In addition to her opera roles, she has performed with the COM Community Theater in the role of Yente in Fiddle on the Roof, Clear Creek Community Theatre as Queen Aggravain in Once Upon a Mattress, and has sung as the soprano soloist for productions of Haydn's Creation and Handel's Messiah. Chelsea has also worked in contemporary worship services since 2004, giving her a well-rounded musical foundation. She began taking pedagogy classes in 2007 in order to become an effective private instructor, and began teaching private students in 2008. In addition to her performance work, Chelsea also published an article on helping vocal students overcome performance anxiety in the September 2010 edition of Southwestern Musician Magazine, the official publication for the Texas Music Educators Association.
She currently spends her "free time" directing productions, such as Pasadena Little Theatre's 2016 production of Putting it Together, music directing productions, such as Broadway Bound's 2016 production of When You Wish, and Clear Creek Community Theatre's 2017 Valentine's Day production. She currently sits on the board of directors at Clear Creek Community Theatre and tries to stay as involved as time will allow in other local community theaters in the area.
