Clear Lake Music Lessons Inc.
C.L.M.L.
In 2006, both David Wolfe and Marcus Stroud
taught private lessons at H&H Music Inc. At the time, H&H Music
was one of the major companies that supplied much of the entire Houston area
schools with instruments for their band programs and had stores in eight
different states. Suddenly, the particular H&H Music store that they had both
teaching at for over twelve years was slated to possibly close. This posed a
problem since there was no other H&H Music store close by or even a similar
business where they could move and continue teaching and neither gentleman
wanted to teach out of their home.
Within 30 days, David Wolfe and Marcus Stroud opened Clear Lake Music Lessons
(CLML) at 17300 Saturn Lane in Suite 107. The website debuted a week later on March
10th, 2006. With one extra teacher to start with, the school added
several more teachers over the next four years. CLML became a place offering
private instruction on a wide variety of instruments. At the end of 2011, the
studio was teaching 100 to 150 students a week. Space started to become an
issue...
A Place for Your Family.
So in 2012, Clear Lake Music Lessons moved to a new stage. We relocated five doors down to Suite 101 and doubled our space. The studio was also incorporated properly and became the limited liability company named Clear Lake Music Lessons inc.
During the last five years, Clear Lake Music Lessons inc. has grown considerably. We now teach 300 to 400 studets a week. At the time of this writing we have seventeen different teachers teaching a wide variety of instruments. We now offer group band classes and summer camps, and our students demonstrate their knowledge at bi-yearly recitals.
From the moment we opened our doors, CLML has always strived to do more than your average store, school, or individual that offers music instruction. We do understand the importance of learning to read music and the value inherent in the teaching of classical music and traditional songs, but we also feel that in current contemporary society many other skills must also be taught for students to succeed.
That is why all instructors at Clear Lake Music Lessons inc. are both teachers and music playing professionals. We desire to push students in a direction that we hope turns them into professionals or at least gives them the satisfaction and enjoyment of playing music well.
We try to cultivate a welcoming atmosphere for the students and for the parents visiting in our waiting room as well; to be a place that is friendly, welcoming, positive and peaceful. For the longest time, CLML’s main advertising has been word of mouth. We have become a mainstay for many parents and students and are recommended by many of them year after year.
We invite you to come by and check us out. Talk with David or Marcus. Meet many of our friendly teachers and staff. Perhaps take a couple of lessons since we have no long term commitment. Maybe even try out a few different teachers to find the right teacher or instrument.
Clear Lake Music Lessons inc. wants to be not only a place for you or your children, but a place for your extended family and friends. So come by, call, or email us today to see what we can do for you to bring the gift of music into your life.
On a final note, at the time of this writing it has been 10 years since we opened our doors. We’re starting to feel again like it’s time to move to a new, bigger stage nearby. It may be a bit of time before we get there, but when we do we feel like it’s going to be bigger and better than ever. Stay Tuned!
